Know your Rights & Take Action

Employers CANNOT ask about your record PRIOR to providing a conditional offer of employment. That means that it is illegal for an employer to ask about your conviction history on an initial application or during a pre-offer interview.
If you come across the conviction question in an application please take a picture/screenshot of it. If asked during an interview, take notes on the date of the Interview, name of the interviewer & any other related information. We can file complaints on your behalf and you may remain anonymous.

If the employer wants to take back the offer after the background check results, they must do so in writing and allow you 5 days to submit evidence challenging their decision, which can include letters of recommendation & proof of rehabilitation.
Get in touch with us immediately and we can help you create a packet proving why you are the right candidate for the job. We can also have a lawyer write a letter on your behalf.
